Prof. Gail S. Goodman, the Distinguished Professor of Psychology and Director of the Center for Public Policy Research is at University of California Davis. She is widely known as the pioneer of modern-day scientific research of the memory of children as eyewitnesses and the use of child victims in court settings. Professor Goodman is a prolific author who has received numerous awards and grants. She has advised numerous authorities and government agencies around the globe on policies and research relating to the treatment of children victims of the law by the system. She is currently a advisor to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center located at Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a member of numerous professional associations which include the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor Goodman is part of the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children as a Founding Member, International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was the president of the American Psychological Association's Developmental Psychology Division, Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice.
